music

nice to hear the complete lineup of isthmus and the lisps in concert. they had a very nice feel, laid back not jam-band loose, but it felt like there was enough looseness in the arrangements for improvisation or variation. sounded like people having fun playing music.

Avian day

Driving in the pre-dawn I had to wait for a flock of turkeys (12) to cross a customer’s driveway.

An hour later I had to wait for a flock of geese to cross a major road.

Channeling The Cure

The best Cure song I have heard in years is called “Tonight I Have To Leave It” — by The Shout Out Louds

excessive verbiage

i know that much of what my ex does for a living is talk both in lecture/pontificate mode and in one-on-one counselling type talk, but my jfg that woman uses so many unnecessary words when she talks in personal conversation that you would think she is getting paid to talk to me. The number of words she uses would put Charles Dickens to shame but at least Charles Dickens didn’t wake me from a dead sleep and spend 15+ minutes telling me something that could have been conveyed much more clearly in 2-3 minutes. Do I really need to hear your detailed version of a conversation you didn’t hear (because you weren’t there), or would it make more sense for me maybe to just talk to one or both of the people involved? No, that would be much to simple/logical.

Updating woes

I just updated the version of WordPress that powers the blogs on this site, so some functionality will be unavailable until I go through and re-add all the custom things I had added.  (yes, I did back things up)
