I hate Ben Affleck
I really hate Ben Affleck. It’s irrational and seemingly unrelated to anything remotely resembling reality but I really hate him. I didn’t like his acting in the PKD-based film “PayCheck” but I didn’t HATE him. I started to dislike him when he was dating J.Lopez and I saw pictures of the two of them wearing matching sweat suits (this on a guy who previously was known as kind of a clothes horse or at least dressed well - but that doesn’t explain my dislike I don’t care much about clothes myself, I think I probably saw in his morphing to be Mr.Lopez a reflection of that same quality in myself that I despise). But then when he and Jennifer Garner got pregnant I just started intensely disliking him. She seems like such a happy and pleasant genuine person and he just seems like such a bland lump of clay. I saw ‘mall rats’ recently and Ben played the part perfectly. He really has a knack for acting like a well dressed asshole. I hated his character in that movie, but not his acting. Then a couple of weeks later I saw “Chasing Amy” where he is (I assume) supposed to be the sympathetic lead and all I was thinking through most of the film was “What an asshole”. His “I love you speech” was the worst piece of supposed-to-be-emotionally-charged-alleged-”acting” I think I have ever seen. Watching him ramble on saying the same thing over and over again, I wonder if Kevin Smith was just really, really pissed at Ben so just told him to adlib and then just left the cameras rolling and put it in the film with no edits to get back at Ben for sleeping with his girlfriend or because Ben outbid him in some secret auction of old superman comics. Whatever it was, I am sure Ben deserved it. Jason Lee’s character, the loud, abrasive and offensive guy was much more sympathetic than Affleck. I am sure Ben he is a nice guy, and his friends all think he’s great, I just really can’t stand Ben Affleck.

Do you believe in God? How about in Unicorns?
I think I must have slipped into an alternate universe today.
I grew up in a conservative X-ian church (aka Fundamentalist, but not radical) which stressed the importance of reading the Bible and a fairly strict literal interpretation of same. Though it’s been a long time since I have even looked at a Bible, I have probably read *most* of the bible in one translation or another at some point during my life.
Today I came across a comment someone wrote online about unicorns being actual physical creatures, and saying that if one believes the bible is literal one has to believe that unicorns actually existed. Now I don’t have any problem with people believing unicorns exist(ed), it doesn’t effect me one way or the other, and given how scientific/factual knowledge has changed over the course of humankinds existence I realize that while it might be unlikely that unicorns ever roamed the earth it’s not impossible that scientific knowledge of the world/history will change to admit the possibility they really did/do exist. So I thought “Huh, that’s kind of odd that someone would claim that about the bible and actually cite the verse in the bible that mentions unicorns, I’ve never seen any reference to unicorns or heard anyone talk about it before…” So I looked up the verse online (in case only one translation had the unicorn reference).
WTH? Not only does the verse mentioned reference Unicorns, but so do NINE other verses in FIVE chapters! Granted, we are talking the mock-historical english King James version, but still - there’s a common version of the bible that mentions Unicorns NINE DIFFERENT TIMES! boggle. I am reeling.
