Rewatching season 4 of Alias shortly after watching season 3 the decline in coherence and quality of writing is quite obvious. As prolific as some people are, I think realistically even very good writers should stick to being head writer/producer of one television show at a time. Joss Whedon managed to keep the quality of Buffy up pretty well even while working on Angel - but that was many of the same characters and a similar genre, but when he started work on Firefly the last season of Buffy was just abysmal and inconsistent. Similarly, Alias was pretty consistently “well” written through the first 3 seasons (with the exception of the outlandish and completely out of left field end of Season 3 (Episodes 22 & 23).

I am hoping I lose interest in Alias before JJAbrahms goes off to start on his next project.
