I received a helpful suggestion this morning from a person whose voicemailbox is regularly so full that I can’t leave msgs when I call, and whose message continued to list an alternative contact phone# over 8 months after the # had been changed and the old # disconnected. The helpful tip was actually useful, but the tone of voice conveyed annoyance.

The helpful suggestion? “You might want to change your message because it says you will be out of the office until July 6th”. Ok, granted it was a good thing to be reminded of, because since it was 12 days ago I had obviously forgotten to update my msg, but still, from the source it was pretty funny.
