Apple computer shows how far it’s head is up it’s butt once again by acting like a Microsoft wannabe. They just took all their free internet services and connectivity that they had been touting as reasons to buy macs for the past two years and turned them into a $99/year subscription service. The kicker? They didn’t even try to come up with a good name for the service, they just aped MS and called it “.Mac”. I love their products but I hate the company, Steve Jobs really seems to be a dictator with little regard for customers or anyone else. If only they didn’t make such cool products. Even knowing how much faster P4 machines are then G4s, and how many more features and software I could get on a windows machine, if I had $2000 today to buy a new computer it would be one of the new Macs.

Ever take any of those online personality / intelligence tests? I have taken a bunch lately (cheaper and less time consuming than therapy) and the latest was “The Ultimate Intelligence test”. It said my IQ is 135. [Actually I just do well at taking tests] Along with the IQ score they give a couple of teaser insights into the way my brain works - but of course to find out the rest of their test and analysis I have to fork over the $14.95 for the multipage report. I wonder if they have ever realized that if someone who really has an IQ of 135 is probablygoing to be smart enough to realize that paying $14.95 for the results of a 10 minute online intelligence test is probably going to be a waste of money. Or do they perhaps inflate the scores so people who really aren’t that smart will be flattered and want the test to find out more about how smart they are? Darn - now I just talked myself out of feeling moderately intelligent.
